VDU with multicoloured display from rectangular symbol fields - dot matrices and image repetition stores with field addresses combining with colour stores and generator

A v.d.u. provides multi-coloured displays on the screen, which is divided into a number of rectangular symbol fields of equal size. Each symbol field is sub-divided into a dot matrix. The system cuts out the additional circuit for producing the blocking signals for all the symbols' fields. The addresses of the symbols' field are transmitted to two image repetition stores. One image repetition store emits a code word to a colour store. The second store transmits a code word to a symbols generator. The control instruction is outside the display range and is transmitted to the colour store from the symbols generator. This allocates a colour to all the lines of the symbols field.
