Vibration technique for measuring liquid and gas density - using magnetic vibration connected to amplifier and time base to determine density of fluid in vibrating element (OE 15.10.79)
Vibration technique for measuring liquid and gas density - using magnetic vibration connected to amplifier and time base to determine density of fluid in vibrating element (OE 15.10.79)
The density of liquids and gases is determined from the vibrational characteristics of an element containing a sample. The vibration is amplified and passed to a modulo-P-divider. From the bore the signal is split and one goes to a ramp generator. A second signal goes to a time base which provide a control input signal to a totaliser. The output from the ramp is passed to the totaliser as is the original signal from the divider. The totaliser will then integrate the output from the ramp generator over a set time with the sample in the vibrational element and with the element evacuated. The time is equiv. to the oscillation time of the vibration or a multiple of it. Used for measuring the density of liquids and gases and provides a simple, battery operated device of low cost yet effective in use.
