A pneumatically actuated clamping device has its piston (2), piston rod (1) and seal (4) formed as a single rubber moulding. The moulding is made from rubber with a Shore hardness of 80A and is fitted into a cylindrical housing (5). The upper part of the housing (5) has a small diameter bore to form a guide for the upper piston rod (1). A slot (10) along the surface of the piston rod (1) forms an air vent. The seal (4) consists of an integrally formed rolling diaphragm with its outer edge clamped by the lower piston rod guide (12).
