The drive arrangement is intended for auxiliary equip in a motor car in accordance with known practice, but with some modifications. The equip. is driven by a vapour-driven motor fed from a boiler which is heated by the waste heat of the car engine and uses a medium which can be used in a cooling circuit. The equip. is the compressor of an air-conditioner and is provided with second drive system. This may consist of a belt drive and a switchable electro-magnetic clutch. A three-way valve upstream of the motor may bypass the motor until the boiler produces sufficient pressure, at which point the coupling disconnects.
