Safety disconnecting system for electrical supply rails - has bridging members on swinging blocks guided to form protective cover in front of contacts

The safety switching system suitable for the collector rails for the phases of an electrical supply, uses a vertical rack for the connecting members. This rack is formed by side plates with sloping contacts at the rear. Bridging members can be swung from an engaged position with these contacts, to a disengaged position at the front. Each bridging member is mounted on a swinging block which is flush with the front in the engaged position. The block is swung down for disengagement, pivoting about two pins each side, fitting in slots near the front of the side plates. These slots have sloping portions at top and bottom so that the blocks form a protective cover in front of the contacts in the fully open or fully closed positions. In the disengaged position, the bridging members are easily detached from the blocks.
