Jet propulsion and steering system for ships and boats - uses pumps with convergent suction ducts low down in hull and controllable nozzle outlets

The jet-propulsion and steering system uses pumps, just one pump in the case of small boats, drawing water from convergent inlet ducts and discharging through nozzles. The ducts should be as low down in the hull as possible. The nozzles i.e. an even number per pump, are in line at a slightly higher level, angled slightly downwards. Steering is effected by selective throttling of the nozzles. With only one pump a conventional rudder is used. Flor direction is reversed for going astern.
