The coil winding machine is for winding armatures for small machines but may also be used on other components, for example tubular resistors. The object is to wind several wires in parallel without twisting the wires over one another. The machine comprises a winding arm with guide pulleys for the winding wires, which rotates around the armature core and places the wres into opposite slots. Concentric with the axis around which the arm rotates in a drum subdivided by radial walls into several parallel spools. The winding wires are reeled onto these spools and then drawn off as the winding proceeds. The drum is preferably perpendicular to the rotational axis. Tensioning arrangements in the form of a brake may be provided on the drum in order to give a satisfactory lay of the turns woind into the armature slots.
