Sheet metal foam filled cavity wall for freezer - uses outer skin flange to form vertical end locating both door seal and rigid cavity seal

The vertical panel edge detail is used on e.g. freezer cabinets of an insulating foam filled (9) cavity construction providing a cavity seal whilst locating a door seal. The inner (4) and outer skins (1) of the panel may be of sheet metal, the vertical edge of the outer skin being flanged in (3) to locate the door seal (6). Closure of the filled (9) cavity is effected by means of a filler section (11) which is fixed behind the flange (3), the section being of rigid thermo-insulating material and being furnished with edge seals (12, 13). In addn. a moulding (14) in supple insulating material fits between the flange (3) a and the inner skin (4, 7) forming a seat for a bellows (16) type door seal (6) when the door attains closure. The section (11) is stepped to obtain a cavity behind the moulding (14) the cavity inc. an anti-condensation bead (17).
