METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SAMPLING AND DETERMINING THE CONTENT OF MAGNETITE AND PHOSPHORE IN MINERALS

To determine the content of magnetite and phosphore in minerals, a representative dust sample is placed in an electromagnetic field and the magnetite content of the sample is determined from the variation of the magnetic flux or of the relative permeability. Then, the phosphore content of the sample is determined for example chemically by using a wet process. The device comprises, for the determination of the magnetite content and of the total weight of the sample, a coil assembly with at least a measurement coil (4), of which the core has the shape of a sample-holder (3), as well as a phosphore analysis device.
