The pulse generator produces pulses rising at more than 100V-nanosecond and 50A/nanosecond into a low-ohmic load having a reactive component. Two parallel paths are connected in series with the load. The first path contains series-coupled avalanche transistors (T11-T1n). The first avalanche transistor in the second path -- which also contains series-coupled avalanche transistors (T21-Tn1) -- and the following path are selected with a delayed drive voltage. The control pulses for the second and following path are obtained consecutively from the series tappings of a base resistor (Rb21 etc.) of the first avalanche transistor (T11) receiving the control pulse.
