System for part-load control of fluidised bed furnaces - varies bed material, as well as fuel and air quantity and quality

The system for part-load control of fluidised-bed combustion equipment involves simultaneous variation of combustion air and fuel input and of the quantity of bed material. There is also controlled admixture of flue gas to the combustion air. To permit the admixture a bed material-collector is fitted below this and there is a fuel dispenser above. There is a transfer device linking the two. The heat absorption surfaces within the bed are located between its highest and lowest operating levels. For steam generators, they comprise both evaporating- and superheating-elements respectively, approximately equalling in area the succeeding contact surfaces.
