Gas holder consists of a vertical cylindrical pressure vessel which has a dome-shaped bell over it. This is free to move telescopically over the pressure vessel and is sealed by means of a liq. seal in an annular trough formed around the vessel. Outer jacket which forms the trought extends to the top of the inner vessel and its upper edge is reinforced by a profiled section steel beam. The inside of the pressure vessel is connected to the storage space above via a reducing valve. Used for storing CH4 produced from anaerobic fermentation of agricultural waste on farms etc. Provides an economic system of storage which is compact and does not required the construction of very expensive foundations.
