The tensioning bolt unit is for fastening a row of switches together. The tensioning bolt (2) is threaded through the tops, or similar, of the individual boxes (1) and has a threaded end (3) onto which a nut (4) is screwed. The nut (4) and threaded end do not protrude beyond the end of the switching bank (1). The other end of the tensioning bolt (2) carries a washer (10) and spring washer (11) to press against the switches (1) in a second recess (6). The spring washer unit (10,11) is tensioned mechanically using a turn key tensioner (5) with key way drive locator. This arrangement allows the switching groups to be separated or fixed together in a simple manner.
