Metal grid mat handling device - uses forwarding electromagnet positioned above mat pile carried by height adjustable table which is moved sideways for loading

The metal grid mat handling device removes the mat from the top of a pile and supplies it to a machining tool. The pile is supported on a table which is raised upwards as the height of the pile decreases, so that the top mat is at the level of a forwarding element feeding it from the pile to the machining tool. The forwarding element pref. comprises an electromagnet with separate hydraulic control cylinders controlling its vertical and horizontal position relative to the pile and with the electromagnetic force being variable. The support table can pref. be moved sidewards, out of vertical alignment with the forwarding element to allow a new pile to be placed on it. Two adjacent tables can be used alternatively brought into the working positionl.
