Flash synchronisation for compact camera - has toothed contact segment rolling on contact track and driven by shutter

The flash synchronisation for a compact camera has a flat ratchet (17) on which rolls a toothed segment (12) directly linked to the shutter drive (6,7). The segment and the ratchet have conducting strips to close the flash contact at a predetermined part of the shutter operation. The segment is spring driven (14) and forms a simple mechanical flash synchronisation. The relative settings of the ratchet and segment are adjustable by a setting lever (17) with the ratchet position held by a spring clip (21).
