The cylinder assembly is intended for a multi-circuit brake system, particularly in combination with an anti brake locking unit. It comprises a number of parallel master cylinders (2) which are mechanically operated (42) by a brake pedal and/or assisted by a pressure source via a valve assembly (5, 6) actuated via a rod (4) connected to that pedal. The mechanical operation of the cylinders is effected via a disc (24), which is centrally coupled to the rod (4). The valve assembly is arranged away from the force transmitting path from the rod via disc to the cylinders, e.g. parallel to and centrally between the cylinders.
