Dosing of solid, soluble reagents (I) is carried out by mixing (I) powder in a certain ratio with a pure, inert, insol. substance (II) and dissolving (I) from a calculated amt. of the mixt. with a calculated amt. of a solvent. (Pref. (II) is BaSO4, TiO2, Al2O3 or SiO2. Dil. solns. of (I) can be prepd. in small amts. at low cost, using simple equipment and with little loss of material. The method is useful for dosing organic reagents giving colour reactions with cations and anions, which are used in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
