Wide tolerance component clamping device - has continuous sets of steps in mating ramp faces

The clamping device secures components made to wide manufacturing tolerances, e.g. a glass or ceramic jug for a domestic coffee machine in a protective casing. It has ramp faces working together and inclined to the direction of movement. These faces (34), and the ones (36) working with them, have a continuous set of steps engaging together. The steps can be of flat isosceles-triangle section, their long bases lying in the plane of the respective ramp faces. The less-inclined faces of the steps can slope downwards slightly towards the next higher ones.
