The refracting lens for corpuscular type radiation equipment is esp. for illuminating installations using an electron beam. A deflecting system is formed from a magnetic field generated within an electro-magnetic imaging lens. The latter is formed from an exciter coil supplied with electrical current. This coil is toroidally surrounded by an iron shell having a gap in it. This shell consists of outer and inner cylinders, a base plate and a convering disc. The shell's gap extends in a radial direction between the outer cylinder and the covering disc. Pref. the axial length of the outer cylinder is greater than that of the deflecting system. The outer cylinder is pref. enclosed above the latter by an iron plate.
