PURPOSE:To form the cyan dye images of superior image keeping characteristic and heat resistance in particular by subjecting a color photographic material to color development in the presence of the specific 2, 5-diacylamino type cyan coupler. CONSTITUTION:The 2, 5-diacylamino type cyan coupler shown by general formula [R is alkyl of C1-20; R1 is alkylsulfonamide, alkylsulfamoyl; R2 is alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic group, R3 is H, halogen; X is alkylene, meta(ortho)phenylene; Z is H, coupling elimination group; n is 1, 2] is used. The amount of compounding of the case when the above-mentioned coupler is used by being added into a silver halide emulsion is suitably about 0.07-0.7mol (preferably 0.1-0.4mol) per 1mol of the silver halide. The above-mentioned coupler is high in dye formation rate and coloring density even when the color-development processing solution excluded of benzyl alcohol is used.
