The known display patterns included fourteen segments and could represent figures and upper-case letters. The twelve-segment (1 to 12) pattern presented here makes it possible moreover to represent lower-case letters. In such a pattern the segments (9 and 10) are all of one piece and form the diagonals of the rectangles (2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8). Several of these patterns may be connected together and include common segments so as to form a display grid. IMAGE
