Support for front-hinged car bonnet - has central hinge which improves aerodynamic coefficient by partially lifting bonnet in transit

The device improves the aerodynamic coefficient of cars with front-hinged bonnets by partially raising the bonnet in transit and maintaining it in this position. The device has a variable geometry and one form consists of a rod (1), enveloped in a sheath of e.g. plastics, and a central hinge (3). One end of the rod supports the bonnet whilst the other end is lodged into the guttering beneath the windscreen. The device is pref. held to the car by a magnetic system and can be operated from within the car.
