Public service vehicle hand grip - has spherical joint at top of moulded plastics grip and with friction welding of joint components

The hand grip (2) has the joint (4) between the upper part (3) acting as the support and the lower part (2) acting as the grip. The joint is spherical and co-operates with a spherical housing in the upper part (3b,3c). This housing has an opening of less diameter than its overall diameter. The housing is made in one piece of moulded plastics and the other parts are assembled by friction welding. The grip ends in a threaded rod (5) on which is a nut (7) locked in the joint. Aligning holes (9,10) are made in the joint.
