The sectional and demountable tile-cutter comprises two stools (4,21) which bolt (6,24) onto an interchangeable base (2) to locate two parallel round section rails (17). A slide (31) with a hand-lever (38) and cutting wheel (37) traverses the rails, a stool (21) having an assymetric 'T' shape in plan with a bar (42) forming a tile-stop. The stool may have an approximate 'L' shape in elevation with re-entrant splay (44). The face (41) is perpendicular to the cutting plane, and one edge (48) is normal to the rails (17). A graduated linear scale may be incorporated on the front horizontal edge zone of the bar, inc. a blind rectangular notch with a splayed inlet which guides the wheel (37) at the end of a cut.
