The stressing system is used for concrete components. One or more stress members are used which are made up from wires. They have pre-stressing forces transmitted to the concrete via end anchors, esp. wedge anchors, and otherwise there is no cohesion with the concrete. At one point, at least, along their length, the members are additionally anchored in relation to the component, pref. in the vicinity of their end anchorages. This can be achieved by a subsequent cohesion provided by injecting hard-setting material in a cavity surrounding the members. This retrieves the system reserve strength otherwise forfeited by lack of cohesion.
