The seal is for use between the heat-insulating jacket and the neck of a manhole at the top of a tank. The one-piece seal (A) is held in place due to the plasticity of the material of which it is composed. Its external shape can be such that it fits closely in place on installation, while it can be elliptical on the inside, fitting against the manhole neck in a horizontal plane. It can be a one-piece jointless plate in elastomer material, highly resistant to external agents.
