ADSORBENT FOR RHEUMATOID FACTOR AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING RHEUMATOID FACTOR

PURPOSE:To provide a rheumatoid factor adsorbent by denaturating an immunoglobulin G-containing substance fixed to a carrier, and to provide a safe and sure treating apparatus for collagen disease, composed of a container having an inlet and an outlet of fluid and containing said adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:An immunoglobulin G-containing substance is fixed to an inert carrier through covalent bonds, and denaturated to obtain a rheumatoid factor adsorbent. The denaturation is carried out, e.g. with heat, denaturating agent such as urea, urethane, etc., or physical means such as irradiation with UV-light, X-ray, etc. The adsorvent is packed in a container having an inlet and an outlet of fluid to obtain the rheumatoid factor removing apparatus. The adsorbent thus obtained is extremely effective for the adsorption and removal of rheumatoid factor from the body fluid (e.g. blood, plasma, etc.), and useful for the remedy of collagen disease, etc. Furthermore, the apparatus is very compact, simple, and safe.
