PURPOSE:To provide the title alloy of a specified compsn. consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Co, Mo, P, S, Nb, W and the balance Fe. CONSTITUTION:This alloy consists of, by wt., C=0.15%, Si 1.0-2.0%, Mn 1.0- 2.0%, Cr 25-32%, Ni 10-25%, Co 25-45%, Mo 0.5-3.0%, P=0.04%, Si= 0.04%, Nb 0.5-2.0%, Nb+W 3.0-10% and the balance Fe. It is manufactured by usual refining and has superior thermal impact resistance in service surroundings including aheat cycle process of about 600 deg.C-(about 1,100-1,200 deg.C) and superior compressive stength in the high temp. zone of about 1,100-1,250 deg.C, so this alloy is suitable for use as a material for a hearth member such as a hearth rail.
