Improvements in a method for Stabilizing a composition used as a lubricant and Coolant metal surfaces during Cutting, Turning and grinding of the same and resulting product

The composition contains a dispersion of oil and water, an emulsifying agent (anionic and/or nonionic) imparting electronegativity to the oily phase of the dispersion and, as stabiliser, a multivalent metal ion bonded to the electronegative oily phase and introduced in the form of a complex of a metal ion and of a polyfunctional organic ligand (for example disodium monocopper(II) citrate). This complex can, between pH 7 and 9, release metal cations to stabilise the emulsion and to prevent its degradation. The service life of cutting fluids for metal machining can thus be very considerably prolonged.
