A method of combining a pipe shaped element (2) in a meshing relationship to another element (1), as well as an arrangement for carrying out the method, whereby a substantially ring shaped part (4) is deployed in an intermediary position between the elements (1, 2), whereby said ring shaped part (4) is designed as a largely hollow part surrounding an explosive charge (5) via which an initiating unit (6) can be set off, thereby expanding the ring shaped part (4) to a mutually combined position on the elements (1, 2). The ring shaped part (4) can be alternatively designed as a separate part, located in a groove (3) arranged on one of the elements (1, 2), and opened in the direction of the adjacent element (1, 2), or as an integrated ring shaped part (4) with one of the elements. With the aim of retaining a greater retention power, one or more wedge type expansion rings (10, 10') can be arranged to project into the ring shaped part's (4) transverse direction, which are designed to perform said projecting movement on the release of the explosive charge (5), as well as thereby expanding the ring shaped part (4) to a position, which combines the components (1, 2). Via the effect brought about when the ring shaped part (4) is deployed in a surrounding track (3), the tightening and meshing attributes can be further improved by at least one tightening and meshing unit (7, 7') being deployed in an intermediary position between the groove's (3) walls and the ring shaped part (4), designed, on the expansion movement of the ring shaped part (4) to be pressed out in the direction from the groove (3) to a position projecting from the groove (3), thereby engaging with the adjacent elements (1, 2) covering surface.IMAGE
