Abstract of the DisclosureThe invention concerns a process for the production of copolymersof propylene and but-1-ene wherein the proportion by weight of units derivedfrom but-1-ene is from 10 to 40% and wherein the proportion of isolated ethylbranches is at least equal to the square of the proportion of units derivedfrom propylene contained in said copolymers. The process is characterisedin that a gaseous mixture of propylene and but-1-ene is brought into contact,in the absence of liquid diluent, with a catalytic system which is stereo-specific in the polymerisation of propylene alone.The resulting copolymers can be used for the production of hollowbodies or heat-sealable films.
