The heat collectors for a solar heating system uses liquid circulating members grooved to form rectangular liquid flow channels (3). To increase the efficiency of heat transfer, these channels are designed to cause a swirling action of the circulating liquid. Each channel has rows of cylindrical projections (1) extending upwards from the surface of the channel. Alternatively raised ribs (2) or lugs can be used.
