摘要
Structural bearings, comprising a composite assembly of elastic and low friction components, are provided with ribbed or grooved surfaces at the working interface. The interstices of the overlapping groove patterns, can be filled with a cast resin to inhibit excessive lateral movement of the bearing relative to its base. Claimed structures involve array of strips of 'Teflon' (RTM) crossing an array of steel strips, with particular reference to supports for atomic reactor cores or for concrete structures having a long span between expansion joints.
