On the outside wall of the tower is at least one box surrounding a hole in the wall; in the box is a vertical tube (I) with a top flange located in a ring bolted to the top of the box so tube (I) can be rotated. On the outside of tube (I) is a vertical row of holders which each contain a radial spraying nozzle employed to feed a washing liq. into the tower. The box is closed by a removable door permitting access to the nozzles when tube (I) is rotated. The door is pref. held on the box by lever hooks. In an alternate design, tube (I) may be aligned horizontally. On tower employed to remove dust and vapours from gas, esp. air, with the aid of water or an absorbent soln.
