PURPOSE:To manufacture a thin strip of an amorphous alloy having superior magnetic characteristics and magnetic aging resistance by restricting the composition of an alloy consisting of Fe, B, Si and C and by annealing an amorphous thin strip of the resulting alloy under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:An alloy having a composition represented by FeaBbSicCd (where a+b+c+d=100 atomic%, a=78-82%, b=8-14%, c=5-15% and d =1.5%) is formed into an amorphous thin strip by a single roll emthod or other method and annealed under annealing conditions satisfying log t=A/T-B [where t is annealing time (min), T is 330-490 deg.C annealing temp., A=(4+ or -2)X10-3 and B= 8+ or -3].It is preferable to adjust said alloy composition to a=80-82%, b=10- 14%, c=5-8% and d=0.01-1.0%, and by carrying out the annealing in a magnetic field or under tension, the magnetic characteristics can be enhanced furthermore.
