Arrangement is for producing a label, e.g. for displayed meat prods., which carries the legally prescribed information as to type, compsn., prepn. etc., and the price per unit wt. It uses a base, e.g. in cardboard, on which the constant, and possibly the variable information is written or printed, and a transparent moisture-resistant covering, e.g. in self-adhering polyethylene (cling) foil, which completely envelopes the base. The variable information may be applied to the outside of the envelope by using stick-on characters, e.g. in PVC. The envelope may be provided with a closure element.
