pTwo transformer core structures are provided with several core sections each having a winding. The two sections have outer yokes, but share a common central yoke. In normal operation, the flux is constant in the transverse cores of the main transformer. The flux density in the series magnetic circuit is not constant, as the applied voltage to the series windings depends the position of the tapping point on the regulator winding. If the series winding voltage is increased, flux is made to flow in transverse cores being communicated through the common yoke./p[FR2506064A1]
