Spark plug electrical cable connection - uses wire with screw-form wound section and spike-shaped further section

The device releasably connects an electric cable to a connecting pin, such as with spark plugs. It involves a metal wire whose one part is wound screw-form to constitute a spiral (7) with an inner dia. (D1) which is somewhat less than the connecting pin external dimension. This permits the spiral (7) to be pressed firmly over the connecting pin, its spring force enabling it to be retained there. The wire other part is spike-shaped (6), extends outwards from one end of the spiral, and is inserted in the cable. The axial length (H1) of the spiral is the same as the length of the connecting pin. The device is fitted in a protective cover which fits over a spark plug, and through which the cable is fitted with the spike-shaped part inserted in it from the spiral far end. The spike-shaped part is rotated through a few revolutions to improve fixture in the cable and contact with the cable conductors. (Provisional Basic advised week 83/32).
