Soluble Cu phthaloxyanine dyes (I) of formula (in which CuPc is a Cu phthalocyanine grouping; X is Cl and/or Br; R is phenyl opt. with non-water-solubilising substit.; m =3: (n+m) is not 16) for colouring organic solvents, waxes, lacquers and plastics. (I) are green dyes the colour tone being between green and blue-green, depending on m. They give colours with high temp. stability.
