TIME BASE ERROR CORRECTORAbstract of the DisclosureA time base error corrector for correcting time baseerrors in recurrent information such as horizontal lines ofa video signal by random selection of a delay line tap isdisclosed. Incoming recurrent information groups are con-verted into impulse trains, in which the information iscarried on the leading edges of the impulses, which are passedasynchronously through a delay line of plural cascadeddigital gates having propagation delays which provide knowntapped increments of delay as well as providing regenera-tion of each impulse passing therethrough. A digital counteris clocked at a rate corresponding to said delay incrementsand counts the time base error of a train as it counts downthe taps of said line. The total reached in counting thetime base error determines the tap through which the impulsetrain is output from the delay line. A restoration circuitthen restores the original signal format to the correctedinformation group.
