Device for dry storing spent nuclear fuel or highly radioactive waste, having drying devices for the fuel or waste. The device comprises a piping heating chamber having pipes which accommodate the fuel or waste and through which air is guided in order to evaporate the water. Water is removed from the air by condensation in a secondary circuit.
