Moulded slabs of phenolic resin bound glass matting and light filler - for flat or curved building blocks for fire resistance and insulation

Composite self-supporting and insulating wall modules are moulded into flat or curved forms with smooth or granulate faces using a two part mould which can be placed in a press to apply heat and compression. Specifically, a shallow cavity mould is sprayed with phenolic resin, lined with layer(s) of resin impregnated glass matting, and packed with a low density filler which is also impregnated with (phenolic) resin before the upper surface is covered with impregnated matting and sprayed resin. The layers are compressed by about 10% in thickness prior to heat curing. Suitable for mfr. of blocks or slabs for building walls, partitions, roofs, platforms, etc. which are fire-resistant thermally and acoustically insulating, rot-proof and impermeable.
