CRT display for fresnel vector representation of measured signals - displays vectors around common centre, w.r.t. reference vector using phase shift circuit providing sweep components for multiplier
Signals corresponding to parameters for display by Fresnel representation on a CRT (23) are applied to the input (25) of a processing circuit. The processing circuit output passes through switching (29) and triggering (32) circuits to a display control circuit (35). This signal is applied to the CRT grid to control the illumination time. A reference clock (1) provides sinusoidal timing signals corresponding to the reference vector for the display. A phase shift circuit (4) provides the two sweep components (x,y) for two multipliers (9,10) whch receive their other inputs from the switching circuit output. The multiplier outputs are amplified (17,18) and applied to the deflector plates (21,22) on the CRT. The display on the CRT is a sweeping vector whose length is proportional to the measured value at the input to the processing circuit.
