The machine for deburring the edges (2) of metal sheets (3) uses a series of rotating wire brushes provided adjacent to one another in the direction of advance of the workpieces, in the region of at least one longitudinal side of the workpieces. The brushes are mounted on a common shaft (11) extending parallel to the direction of advance (Pf1). Adjacent brushes (4,5) rotate in opposite directions to each other, by the provision of reversing gears. As a result, both edges of the rim of each metal sheet are acted upon sufficiently strongly by the brushes rotating against these edges, in a single operation, so that there is no need to turn the workpiece in order to deburr it.
