The starter motor is of the type having a reduction gear between the shaft of the driving motor and the throw-out mechanism. The starter motor is made up of an output pinion on the motor shaft engaging with a toothed wheel, the rim of which extends over a hub fixed to the shaft of the throw-out mechanism. The toothed wheel is coupled to the hub through an elastic medium incorporated in the wheel rim, providing impact absorption for the drive system. The elastic coupling is made up of blocks placed between radial projections, alternately from the hub and the interior of the wheel. The blocks are obtained by injection of an elastomer between the wheel and hub.
