The sawdust or swarf is blown away by a jet of air derived from the outflow of the electric motor cooling fan, the air passing through a flexible hose directing the outflow air onto the work surface in the area where the tool is operating. The motor cooling air is drawn over the motor by the motor fan then directed through an exhaust grille in the casing of the tool. A hollow chamber is fixed to the drill casing so that it entraps all the exhausted air, and a flexible hose emerges from the side of the hollow chamber, and extends towards the working surface. The tip of the hose is bent to aim the emerging air stream directly at the area where the tool is working, and the air flow blows away the sawdust or fillings.
