PURPOSE:To enhance volume resistivity and to enable the miniaturization and wt. reduction of a heat generator, by quenching a molten alloy containing Cr, Al, Si and Fe in a predetermined ratio by a liquid quenching method. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of 10-40wt% Cr, 4-20wt% Al, 0.01-10wt% Si, Cr+1.927 Al=30% and the remainder of Fe is prepared by a melting method. This molten alloy is quenched by a liquid quenching method to obtain, for example, a ribbon shaped alloy. The obtained alloy has volume resistivity =170muOMEGA.cm and a heat generator is further miniaturized and reduced in wt.
