OIL-WATER SEPARATOR AND OIL RECOVERER OF OFFSHORE PLATFORM

PURPOSE:To effectively recover oil component by a method in which a bottomed cylinder is provided through oil-water interface in a vertically movable manner to the inside of a cylinder into which drain containing oil is flowed, and an oil inlet port is provided to a place corresponding to the oil face of the bottomed cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A drain containing oil is flowed from an inlet pipe 2 into a cylinder 1 hung down from an offshore platform into the sea water, and oil is separated by utilizing the difference of specific gravities between the oil and water. The separated oil 0 flows into the oil inlet port 9 of the bottomed cylinder 8, and the oil in the cylinder 8 is recovered from a strainer 13 into a skimming tank 16. The cylinder 8 is adjusted such that the lower end level of the oil inlet port 9 coincides with the level of the sea surface at high tide, and thereby oil is flowed into the cylinder 8 by utilizing the vertical movement of the tidal current. The oil can thus be effectively recovered without the need to suck up the oil.
