PURPOSE:The titled ozone decomposition apparatus, having a glass wool layer, glass filter and wire net on each of the top and bottom surfaces of a honeycomb filter coated with activated carbon respectively built in a vessel, and capable of improving the measuring accuracy of the ozone densitometer and facilitating the maintenance and control thereof. CONSTITUTION:An ozone decomposition apparatus having a ceramic honeycomb filter 12, coated with activated carbon on the surface thereof, having cushioning materials 11 bonded to the sides thereof, fixed in a vessel 10, and provided with glass wool layers (13a) and (13b), glass fiber filters (14a) and (14b) and wire nets (15a) and (15b) on the top and bottom surfaces thereof, the vessel 10 being closed with a top lid 16 having an introductory hole 17 for a sample gas and a bottom lid 19 having a gas discharge hole 20. The sample gas containing ozone is passed through a gas diffusion plate 18, the filter (14a) and glass wool layer (13a) and introduced into the honeycomb filter 12 to decompose the ozone. Dust is removed from the resultant sample gas containing no ozone in the glass wool layer (13b) and glass filter (14b), and the sample gas is discharged from the gas discharge hole 20 and fed to an ultraviolet light absorption cell.
