System for gas purificn. comprises a vertical tower contg. a series of filter beds; gas enters at the base and leaves at the top of the tower, in both cases in a tangential fashion. Pressure drop through the filter beds is compensated by a motor drive fan located in the top of the tower drawing the gases through. A series of ventilation plates between the filter beds contain a series of tangential inlet, and round holes which serve to generate turbulence in the scrubbing liquid as the gas is forced through. - Used for the removal of suspended solids and soluble contaminants from waste gases.(0/4)
